Job Description

Location: Geraldton
Roster: Monday to Friday, with some weekend work only as required. Time off in lieu (TOIL) applies for any weekend work.
Type: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Driver Trainer who is people and relationships focused and takes pride in developing others. You will play a key role in building capability across our driving workforce by delivering practical, high-quality training and coaching that improves safety, compliance, and performance.

The ideal candidate will be confident working with drivers and operators at all levels, able to build trust quickly, and skilled at motivating individuals to lift their standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Training Program Development & Delivery

  • Deliver MC Driver training from onboarding through to annual recertification
  • Conduct practical assessments, simulations, and safety drills
  • Manage inductions, probation support, and compliance checks for new starters

Leadership of Internal Driver Trainers

  • Lead and mentor internal MC Driver trainers
  • Ensure consistent training standards and delivery across the team
  • Allocate trainers based on operational and trainee needs

Training Gap Analysis & Driver Performance

  • Analyse performance data, incidents, and feedback to identify training needs
  • Maintain competency, refresher, and development records
  • Deliver targeted coaching and re-training plans where required

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate training records and system updates (e.g. Litmos, HR systems)
  • Ensure all training meets WHS and operational compliance standards

Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Update training content in line with regulatory and operational changes
  • Work with WHS, Recruitment, and HR to align onboarding and compliance processes
  • Support WHS and compliance audits as required

Qualifications

  • Valid Australian MC Driver's Licence
  • Front End Loader Operator Ticket
  • Proven road train experience, including minimum Triple Road Train configuration
  • Strong and verifiable safety record with a commitment to safe work practices
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and maintain a strong work ethic
  • Ability to successfully pass a Commercial Driver's Medical
  • Current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
