Project Officer
The role
The Project Officer is responsible for the planning, promotion and delivery of the "My Play School" program, funded by Telethon. The program provides interactive Life Skills, Play and Learning activities to enhance the social, emotional and physical development of migrant and refugee children and young people.
The Project Officer provides oversight, input and support to the team who directly deliver these programs, ensuring contractual requirements are met. The Project Officer will be responsible for:
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Coordinate family intake, assessment and onboarding.
Plan and deliver participant activities and events.
Monitor participant outcomes and service quality.
Assist with the preparation of reports and program documentation.
Ensure reporting and funding requirements are met.
This position is a fixed term part-time role ending 18 December 2026, working 6 days and 30 hours per fortnight.
Qualification in a relevant field such as Youth Work or Community Services or relevant experience in working with young migrants and refugees.
Relevant experience and knowledge of early learning and childhood development, including children with additional needs.
Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
Ability to work with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients with low and medium English proficiency and ability to work with interpreters and bicultural workers.
Strong understanding of the needs of migrant and refugee families
Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
Unrestricted drivers' licence
