Job Description

Epworth HealthCare is seeking a casual Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic Acute Speech Pathology team, working across both Richmond and Freemasons campuses. In this role, you will provide assessment and management of adult swallowing and communication impairments across a diverse and stimulating acute caseload. You will work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary environment and contribute to highquality patient care across a range of medical and surgical specialties. This position reports to the Speech Pathology Team Leader and the Acute Allied Health Manager, with opportunities for ongoing learning, supervision and professional growth.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing expert care in the assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders in adult patients.
  • Collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with Epworth's core values.
  • Demonstrating highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills to support both patients and colleagues.

You will have:

  • Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A recognised degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Practical experience in assessing and managing adults with communication and swallowing needs in a hospital setting.
  • Experience in conducting and interpreting swallowing videofluoroscopy studies.
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritise and manage a varied caseload.
  • A passion for continuous learning and delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care.
