About Our School

St Thomas More College is a Brisbane Catholic Education co‐educational secondary college catering for approximately 1,030 students. Our college opened in 1974 and, from inception, has developed a strong commitment to the pastoral care of students. About The Opportunity

St Thomas More College invites applications for a full‐time, Secondary Teacher position, specialising in English, Humanities and Religious Education.

In This Position You Will Be Responsible For

• Deliver engaging English and Humanities lessons that meet curriculum standards, differentiate for diverse learners and foster a positive classroom environment.
• Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner‐centred, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices.
• Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programmes and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community.
• Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture.
• Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development.
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

About You

• Creating a supportive, learner‐focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programmes in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
• Commitment to engage with colleagues, students and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
• A passion to support students' spiritual and moral development.
• You are not required to be Catholic to apply for this position.

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
