About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Risk & Quality, this role plays a key part in supporting Afford's risk, quality and safeguarding frameworks. You will work closely with operational and corporate teams to monitor compliance, conduct internal audits, identify opportunities for improvement and support the delivery of safe, high-quality services for people with disability.

  • Assist with external accreditation and third-party audit preparation activities.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Afford's Risk and Quality Management Systems.
  • Maintain and monitor risk and quality registers, including complaints, incidents and restrictive practices.
  • Monitor incident and feedback management systems and follow up to ensure actions are completed within required timeframes.
  • Support reporting requirements relating to restrictive practices, incidents and safeguarding obligations.
  • Participate in investigations and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Deliver guidance and support to staff regarding quality, compliance and accreditation requirements.
  • Contribute to training and education activities relating to risk and quality systems.
  • Develop strong working relationships across operational and corporate teams to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with data analysis, reporting and process improvement initiatives.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience within the disability, community services, human services or a related sector.
  • Experience in quality, compliance, auditing, governance, risk management or continuous improvement.
  • Strong ability to assess systems, processes and practices against legislative, regulatory and quality standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment with a commitment to service quality.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the disability sector, NDIS Practice Standards, restrictive practices or safeguarding requirements will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working with government reporting portals and compliance systems is advantageous.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • A strong commitment to working within a purpose-driven organisation.
