About the Opportunity
The WA State Manager will lead ALM's growth and operational performance across the Western Australian market. This role oversees the On-Premise Sales team and logistics operations at the Canning Vale Distribution Centre, driving sales, profitability, and service outcomes through strong commercial leadership and effective supply chain management. Leading a high-performing team, the role focuses on building customer and supplier relationships while identifying opportunities for sustainable growth across the state. As the senior ALM representative in WA, the State Manager will also drive industry engagement and represent the business across key stakeholders. The role is based at our Canning Vale office and reports into the EGM ALM Wholesale.
In this Role
- Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) for ALM WA, focusing on optimising EBIT through efficient sales margins, cost control, and sales growth initiatives
- Develop and execute a nationally aligned state-level strategy to protect and grow our wholesale business, deliver operational excellence, sales growth, and profitability
- Identify areas of opportunity for growth and work towards expanding market share in the on-premise sector
- Ensure effective management of stock on hand (SOH) to maintain best-in-class service levels for customers
- Lead and manage the WA region, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Manage key relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders in WA.
- Ensure compliance of all regulatory, legal, ethical, environment and Metcash policies
You're Likely a Match If
- Extensive experience within a Sales Leadership role.
- Extensive experience within liquor/FMCG industry
- Commercial acumen - demonstrated experience preparing, reading and achieving financial budget
- Confidence in dealing with conflict and difficult conversations
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
