EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on 38 hours per week, working across a 7-day spread, with actual days and times being worked in accordance with 7-day rotating roster. This roster is altered in order to meet changing operational needs and service demands.
- The above working arrangement falls with the definition of a 7-day rotating roster under the Local Government (State) Award 2023. Accordingly, there is an entitlement to accrue 5 weeks of annual leave each year.
- This position is covered under an annualised salary arrangement providing a salary which includes payment for ordinary hours, on-call, public holiday entitlement, relevant allowances and penalty loadings for weekend work.
- Hours worked on weekdays outside the span of 5:00am to 10:00pm will attract the appropriate loadings.
- In line with the provisions of the Local Government (State) Award, this position will receive the Level 1, Adverse Working Conditions Allowance, in accordance with the Award.
- Hours additional to those rostered may be required, depending on operational requirements. These will be by agreement and paid at the appropriate rates.
- You will be required to enroll and complete the Airport Reporting Officer Skill Set and our Albury Airport mandatory in house competency-based training Matrix.
- This position is temporary for a period of up to 18 months.
- This position involves working both indoor and outdoor, along with computer work. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day - depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. Appropriate WHS standards will be applied for all manual handing activity. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position.
- This position requires you to wear a compulsory uniform as per AlburyCity's Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position is subject to pre-employment and ongoing alcohol and other drug testing in accordance with AlburyCity procedures.

- This position is located at Albury Airport with occasional visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Completion of Year 10.
- Provisional Licence or Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain)
- A capacity to enroll in and complete vocational training and studies
- Required to hold or be eligible to obtain a Firearms Licence
- Required to hold or be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (compulsory to have and maintain)
- Required to hold or be willing to obtain an Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (compulsory to have and maintain)
- Required to hold or be willing to obtain a Chemical Users Certificate (compulsory to have and maintain)
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- First Aid Certificate (CPR)
- Year 12 High School certificate
- Familiarity with MS Office suite
- Willingness to learn about aviation and airports
- Strong desire to make airport operations a career
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
These will relate specifically to the role and will generally reflect the technical elements of the role:
- An interest in aviation.
- An interest in compliance and business systems.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes as required.
- Demonstrated intermediate computer skills and knowledge, with understanding of Microsoft Office software, with particular reference to Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated skills in web based and device based applications and portals for reporting.
- An understanding of general office equipment and functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direction of the supervisor, the Cadet Airport Officer assists in the following:
- Inspection and maintenance of the aerodrome runway, taxiways, aprons, markers and markings, and grounds in accordance with the Aerodrome Manual (and subsidiary documents), Transport Security Program, standard operating procedures and relevant regulations.
- Inspect and maintain airside areas, airport terminal, car park and other landside areas.
- Escort vehicles, contractors and authorised personnel airside.
- Liaising with airline staff, lessees, licensees, Air Traffic Control and airport users.
- General office administration, including maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with car park troubleshooting (equipment failures/malfunctions) including other systems in the airport.
- Assist with duties in the Cafe/Bar such as sales, restocking, food preparation and cleaning.
- Provision of effective customer service and directing airport patrons within the facility.
- Use initiative to source tasks that need to be completed at the airport, within the scope of daily duties.
- Undertake and complete the training development program.
- Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Team Leader Airport Operations and Airport Compliance Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
- Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.
