About the role
As Ranger in Charge, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Scottsdale Field Centre, ensuring the effective management of resources, budgets, and operational priorities. You will supervise a team of two staff, supporting their growth and capability while fostering a collaborative work environment.
The position contributes to the development and implementation of regional business and strategic plans, including current projects being undertaken in the Waterhouse Conservation Area.
Working across a spectacular coastal region between Bellingham and Musselroe Bay and including Mount Victoria Regional Reserve to the South, this role offers variety and exposure to some of Tasmania's most pristine landscapes.
This is a fixed-term appointment for six months and presents a valuable development opportunity for both experienced Rangers and those seeking to broaden their professional experience.
Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
6 months or until the return of the substantive occupant, whichever is sooner.
Essential requirements
- A Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
- A minimum of five years' experience in reserve management or equivalent experience.
To access Band 4 Range 2 salary levels the following qualification is essential:
- A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
Desirable requirements
- A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
- A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
