Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is seeking a Process Specialist to join our Gas Processing team within Coke & Iron. As part of BlueScope's Australian Steel Products business, our operations support critical steelmaking processes that deliver high-quality products to domestic and export markets.
In this role, you will provide operational and technical support to ensure safe & reliable gas processing operations. You'll play a key role in maintaining plant performance, improving systems and processes, and supporting the capability development of the operations team.
What Will You Do?
As a valued member within the Gas Processing function, you will be:
- reinforcing a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with HSE standards and regulatory requirements
- overseeing the safe and efficient operation of gas processing systems and by-products
- delivering business plan targets and drive operational performance outcomes
- coordinating across operations, maintenance and stakeholders to ensure reliable plant performance
- driving continuous improvement, including systems, procedures and process optimisation
More About You
You are an operational coordinator who thrives in an intricate process industrial environment and brings strong technical and people engagement capability.
You will demonstrate:
- strong commitment to safety and risk management in hazardous environments
- experience in continuous industrial processing, ideally gas or similar operations
- strong problem-solving and plant troubleshooting capability
- ability to coordinate stakeholders and manage competing priorities
- effective communication, organisation and attention to detail
