We're looking for a strategic and commercially driven Group Manager - Procurement (Direct Materials) to lead sourcing, supplier management and category strategy across a significant spend portfolio.

In this senior leadership role, you will drive cost, quality, service, risk and sustainability outcomes while ensuring supply continuity and strong governance. You'll work closely with cross-functional leaders across Operations, Planning, Quality, Finance and Supply Chain to deliver business-critical outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and execute category strategies for direct materials, aligned to business objectives, manufacturing needs and risk management
  • Deliver annual value plans, including cost savings, cash improvements and productivity outcomes, supported by strong financial governance
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx processes and contract negotiations, to secure competitive and sustainable supply
  • Manage supplier performance, drive continuous improvement and foster innovation in materials, processes and sustainability outcomes
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Planning and Technical/Quality to ensure alignment and successful implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Lead, coach and develop the two direct reports; set clear objectives, build capability in negotiation, analytics, and stakeholder management.

Your skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in direct materials procurement within manufacturing, FMCG or industrial environments.
  • Proven success delivering value in complex categories with commodity volatility and supply constraints.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiation, cost modelling and pricing mechanisms
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in supplier performance management and risk mitigation

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or similar
