The opportunity with us as a permanent full time Graduate Consultant

We are looking for a Graduate Consultant to join our high performing Strategic & Advisoryteam in our Melbourne office. Reporting to the Vice President & Director of Advisory & Innovation, Woolpert Asia Pacific & Middle East, you will support other Consultants and Lead Consultants within the team, with a significant role in supporting, and managing client projects. Fantastic learning opportunity by interpreting data from a variety of disciplines and use your knowledge and understanding to develop and deliver client-focused solutions.

You will be:

  • Extracting information from client and industry workshops and interviews and collaborate with project teams to identify geospatial requirements and develop appropriate strategies to address client needs and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Assisting the design and implementation of geospatial models and workflows to automate data processing and analysis tasks.
  • Preparing and delivering clear and concise reports, presentations, and documentation based on solid quantitative and qualitative evidence to effectively communicate geospatial findings and insights.
  • Undertaking domestic and international travel for business / project-related work where applicable and directed.
  • Representing Woolpert (and spatial information profession as appropriate) at conferences, seminars, trade shows, research forums etc. Where possible, maintain your existing involvement with professional societies, industry bodies, universities and research organisations, standards organisations etc to be informed on current industry trends and to maintain and develop your professional network.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • An undergraduate degree in a Spatial Information or Spatial Science discipline such as GIS, Surveying, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Science, Geography etc.
  • A graduate qualification in a Spatial Information or Spatial Science Discipline.
  • Exposure working in a role within the spatial information sector with a strategic advisory/consulting focus, and have good understanding of spatial analysis, including spatial statistics, network analysis, and geoprocessing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex geospatial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think spatially and critically.
  • Good knowledge of geospatial concepts, theories, and techniques, with proficiency in using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial databases.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data formats, such as shapefiles, GeoTIFF, and KML.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
