What You Can Expect

When joining Zimmer Biomet as the East Coast Sales Manager SET / CMFTyou will be accountable for maximizing market potential within the assigned geography, setting performance goals & monitoring performance for Territory Managers, Sales Associates & Sales Support Representatives and in collaboration with the SET / CMFT Senior Sales Manager, setting the Extremities & CMFT sales strategy. This accountability will involve a significant amount of time spent both expanding upon current business and development of future business opportunities You will be responsible for all people management aspects of the team to ensure a healthy high performance and engaged team. This will include setting performance goals for Sales Representatives and monitoring team and individual performance on a regular basis. You will also work closelywith the State and Area Orthopedic Sales managers across a range of common interests; such as clinical support, regional sales rep performance and team collaboration.

How You'll Create Impact

  • People Management:
    Co-ordinate and direct sales team to achieve targets such as team sales target, individual territory targets, task based targets
    Regularly coach, motivate and appraise performance of Sales Associates and Clinical Support Representatives
    Monitor performance objectives on a regular and timely basis
    Induct, train and coach new team members in order to achieve maximum performance within a short time frame
    Develop performance objectives with sales team

  • Sales Management
    Analyse month end sales results by product, territory and segment. Review reports to detect sales, market share and activity trends
    Distribute month end sales and customer reports to appropriate team members
    Liaise with key customers, Operations Department and Sales Representatives to ensure superior customer service
    Identify business opportunities through analysis of customers and trends within the area
    Partner with peer managers to uncover business opportunities and plan team sales initiatives
    Work with Sales Representatives to design specific solutions for customers that follow corporate policy and the marketing plan
    Liaise with internal departments to secure necessary resources and acquire information needed by sales
    Participate in appropriate product training sessions, to keep abreast of current practices

  • Administration
    Meeting coordination - provide guidelines and monitor external meetings (eg trade displays)
    Source motivation, team building & training materials for the team
    Manage financial resources through appropriate development & allocation of promotional budgets and area expense budgets
    Liaise with Sales, Product Managers and Marketing Administration to ensure timely distribution of samples, promotional pieces and literature
    Ensure compliance with Zimmer policies and procedures eg WHS, as well as industry regulations e.g. Code of Business Conduct, TGA & OHS

What Makes You Stand Out

  • At least 10 years' experience in medical device sales - Orthopaedics, Capital, Equipment, Diagnostic
  • At least 5 years' people management experience in a sales environment
  • Demonstrated sales abilities & a track record of successful selling to the medical profession

Your Background

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or Paramedical discipline and/or tertiary qualifications in nursing/ science or a related discipline or compensating work experience

Travel Expectations

  • Significant and frequent travel within assigned region - East Coast (65%)
