Role description:
The Account Leader - Rail & Transit will play a key role in growing Arcadis' presence in the Queensland market by building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities early, and helping convert those opportunities into sustainable work. This is a senior, market-facing role focused on strengthening our position across rail and transit clients.

We are looking for someone with deep market credibility who can operate confidently with clients, understand how major infrastructure opportunities are shaped, and bring together the right people internally to position Arcadis well. The role combines account growth, client engagement and front-end pursuit leadership, making it well suited to someone who understands both the commercial and delivery sides of major transport projects.

Role accountabilities:
  • Build and strengthen client relationships across the Queensland rail and transit market
  • Drive account growth by identifying, qualifying and progressing opportunities within existing and target clients
  • Lead front-end client engagement and support pursuit activity, including opportunity shaping, positioning and bid strategy
  • Work closely with technical and delivery teams to bring the right capability into client conversations and pursuits
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Queensland market, including upcoming programs, investment priorities and client challenges
  • Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities, ensuring accurate reporting and disciplined pipeline management
  • Represent Arcadis credibly in the market and act as a trusted point of contact for senior client stakeholders
  • Support growth of the Rail & Transit business in Queensland, including opportunities that connect into contractors, ports and adjacent sectors where relevant
  • Help improve Arcadis' share of wallet within priority accounts through strategic relationship management and targeted growth activity
  • Contribute to a strong client experience by maintaining regular engagement, responding to issues proactively and supporting long-term account development.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Significant experience in the Queensland rail, transit or broader infrastructure market, with a strong understanding of how major opportunities are developed and won
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management, account growth and/or front-end pursuits
  • Established relationships and market credibility across organisations such as TMR, Queensland Rail, contractors, local authorities or similar
  • Experience working in either a consulting or contractor environment, with the ability to understand client priorities from both strategic and delivery perspectives
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify, qualify and progress opportunities in a disciplined way
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted representative in the market
  • Ability to bring together internal teams and capabilities to support client needs and pursuit activity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an engaging style and the ability to build confidence quickly
  • Ability to operate independently in a senior, externally focused role
  • A degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
