About the role:
We are seeking a commercially astute and strategic leader to join Aurizon as Head of Network Customers. This pivotal role is responsible for leading customer engagement across our Network business, ensuring strong partnerships, commercial outcomes, and alignment with Aurizon's long-term strategy.
Reporting to the Group Executive Network, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for managing key customer relationships, infrastructure strategy, and customer experience across our network operations.
Lead and execute the customer strategy for the Network business, aligning with enterprise priorities
Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key customers and stakeholders to drive long-term commercial and regulatory outcomes
Oversee customer account management and infrastructure construction contracts, ensuring successful execution of negotiated outcomes.
Lead and manage consultation with customers and industry groups regarding network maintenance and capacity, infrastructure and operational changes.
Anticipate future customer needs and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team focused on customer excellence
Partner closely with operations, legal, and finance teams to deliver integrated solutions
About you:
You are an experienced senior leader with a strong commercial mindset and a demonstrated ability to build enduring customer partnerships. You bring strategic thinking, operational understanding, and a track record of delivering results in complex environments.
You will also have:
Significant experience in customer leadership, account management, or commercial roles within transport, logistics, infrastructure, or related sectors
Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex commercial agreements
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at executive level
Experience working in regulated environments (desirable)
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive outcomes
Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or a related discipline (desirable)
