Job Title: Senior Stockperson Dairy Cattle

Job Brief:

Our employer client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Stockperson to join our team in many locations in Australia. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

As a Senior Stockperson, you will be responsible for the daily management and care of our dairy cattle herd. This includes overseeing the health and well-being of the animals, managing their feeding and nutrition, and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of their living quarters. You will also be responsible for supervising and training junior stockpersons, ensuring that all tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the daily operations of the dairy cattle herd, including feeding, milking, and general care

- Monitor the health and well-being of the animals, identifying and treating any health issues

- Ensure that all animals are properly fed and receive the necessary nutrition for optimal growth and production

- Maintain a clean and hygienic living environment for the animals, including regular cleaning and disinfecting of their living quarters

- Supervise and train junior stockpersons, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are carried out effectively and safely

- Keep accurate records of herd health, production, and inventory

- Assist with breeding and calving operations as needed

- Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities, reporting any issues to management

- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Required Qualification & Work Experience:

• Certificate in Agriculture, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry and/or higher relevant qualification
• At least 3 years of recent and relevant experience in a medium-to-large commercial farm

Other Skills:

• Ability to work with a team and/or independently with less supervision
• Good communication skills
• With a good English test score is an advantage (minimum PTE score 36 or IELTS 5.0)
• Experience in Canada, Japan, Demark, USA and New Zealand is an advantage
• Must have a valid Driver's license
