Job Description

Purpose of Position

The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting a team of Service Technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery at customer sites. The Field Supervisor will provide hands-on technical guidance, coordinate daily operations, and act as a key liaison between the team, planning staff, management and key customer contacts to ensure work is completed according to customer requirements and company standards. The Field Supervisor will also be responsible for monitoring performance and providing feedback, conducting spot audits as required, troubleshooting complex issues, and fostering the development and skills of the technical team.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Lead field projects including field modernisations and refurbishments

Prioritises tasks and team members (and / or subcontractors) to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that Service Request deadlines are met.

Offers guidance to Planners with assigning team members and Prioritising tasks (and / or subcontractors)

Evaluate and authorise changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a Service Request.

Manage ongoing relationships with external contractors ensuring the organization receives agreed standards of service

Perform regular Audits to monitor the quality of work performed by Field Operatives

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and actively encourage the reporting of observations. Incidents and near misses.

Identify parts and know where to source information on parts

Directly supervise technicians (and/or subcontracted labour) time entries and approve time sheets

Maintain a detailed understanding of the Australian Standards and act as a point of contact for others within the business.

Provide regular, timely and constructive feedback to all field Technicians including during the appraisal process.

Promote the accurate and timely submission of Operative timesheets

As required, ensure that jobs are effectively planned, and parts/ access equipment is ready for job delivery

Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

Provide support for pricing/quoting large or complex repairs, modifications and replacement components using Konecranes and Demag tools

Coordinate internal resource requirements with front line and third party/vendors for the effective execution of Service Requests.

Ensure that all Service Requests are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards

Work Related requirements

Learn and understand the Konecranes and Demag product range/ offerings available for the market

Ensure that the Konecranes and Demag brand is communicated consistently and in accordance with the Company's values and brand principles.

Ensure that Konecranes and Demag Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality processes are followed including to:

o take reasonable care for your own health and safety; and

o take reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons; and

o comply, so far as the worker is reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction that is given by the business to allow for compliance with WHS laws; and

o co-operate with any reasonable policy or procedure of the business relating to health or safety at the workplace that has been notified to employees.

o Report all incidents (Health, Safety or Environmental) or Observations via ARMOR.

o Participate in HSE Consultation sessions (Toolbox Talks).

Actively promote Safety within the team.

Actively engage in training programs.

Proactively engage with employees promoting Konecranes and Demag as an employer of choice

Prepared to travel

Participate in branch meetings and/ or other meetings as required

Support and train new technicians to the business.

Qualifications

Specialised requirements - Qualifications/licences:

Electrical Licence or Mechanical Trade Certificate required.

Maintains a current and valid Driver Licence.

Working at Heights competency.

Broad knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.

Ability to work with computer programs: Outlook, Excel and word.

In-depth knowledge of Konecranes and Demag Service Products.

In-depth knowledge of Konecranes and Demag Field modernisation solutions.

Possesses excellent customer relations skills and strong dispute handling skill.

Supervise small teams of people on larger projects.

Additional Information

Working Relationships

Reporting directly to the Service Manager

Works directly with Administrators, Planners & Sales personnel within the branch

Liaises directly with customers driving the Konecranes and Demag LIFECYCLE Care delivery process

Liaises with other operational areas in the organization (for example engineering, drafting, technical) to secure specialized resources and contributions for projects

Liaises with/ supports the front-line management and sales teams as required to help secure additional projects.
