Reporting to the Assistant Vice President HR, Sydney, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for the operational and day-to-day HR management of the Sydney studio, while assisting in the delivery of key HR projects and initiatives.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of Australian employment law, HR compliance, and workplace legislation, who can confidently support HR operations and employee-related matters within the studio.You will work closely with managers, employees, and the wider global HR team to ensure smooth HR processes and a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily HR operations for the Sydney studio
  • Manage employee records, HR documentation, contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and probation processes
  • Support payroll inputs, leave management, employee benefits, and HR systems administration
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries, policies, and workplace matters
  • Assist with employee relations, performance management, and engagement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements, and company HR policies
  • Coordinate training, inductions, internal communications, and HR reporting
  • Prepare HR reports, trackers, and basic analytics for management review
  • Support visa, work rights, and compliance documentation where required
  • Collaborate with recruitment, operations, and global HR teams to maintain smooth people processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR administration and operational workflows
Key Skills & Requirements
  • 3 - 4 years of experience in an HR Generalist, or HRBP role
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law and HR compliance
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with global teams
  • Proactive, approachable, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience within media, technology, VFX, animation, or creative industries is a plus
Nice to Have
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field
  • Knowledge of visa/work rights processes in Australia
  • Experience working within a global organisation
