Our enterprise-level client is seeking to add a Senior Network Engineer in Melbourne, Australia.
Job Notes:
-1-year contract / extensions and perm conversion possible with good performance
-Onsite in Melbourne, Australia – will work local hours
-Drug & Background check required
The goal of this position is to provide technical design, implementation as well technical support, maintenance and management of complex solutions that span across multiple enterprise technical streams. This role has a networking focus in a global enterprise datacenter environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
• Ensure that support, maintenance, and configuration work adhere to defined standards and best practices and/or assist in the development of these standards and best practices.
• Routinely research, analyze, test, retest, and troubleshoot complex problems.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with defined Service Level Agreements and Objectives.
• Proven experience in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing while staying abreast of new technology/technical areas.
• Provide advanced technical experience for complex troubleshooting and network maintenance work, including functional subsystem upgrades for mission-critical network devices and services as well as strategic upgrades to the network.
• Support and maintain complex networks.
• Provide advanced expertise in the development of network test, validation, and integration plans on projects, and assurance of network integrity.
• Time management and the ability to multitask between several ongoing projects.
• Effectively maintain Incident and Change tracking cadence via ITSM platform as well as communications with primary estate owners when necessary.
• Understand and maintain Service Level Agreement goals.
• Reporting This position will report to the Digital Innovation Expert Services Network Implementation Lead Education
Required:
• 5+ years of professional experience in large enterprise environments
• Professional networking certifications a plus (i.e. CCNP or equivalent)
• Legally eligible to work in Australia. Skills & Competencies
• Solid Understanding of the OSI model, routing and switching protocols, network security, IPv4 networking, subnetting, and operational experience. (Cisco enterprise networking mandatory)
Experience with multiple wireless vendor designs and deployments. (Cisco mandatory)
• Demonstrated confidence to deliver customer-facing discussions.
• Excellent verbal articulation, written communications
• Hands-on technical skills, including complex configuration, troubleshooting, code upgrades and installation of enterprise networking equipment.
