Hunter Valley, NSW | Flexible VMO Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a modern regional hospital in the Hunter Valley to recruit General Practitioners with Emergency Medicine experience to join a high-performing Emergency Department as Visiting Medical Officers.

This is a great opportunity to build a long-term Emergency Medicine career within a large, contemporary district hospital (Tier 2 facility) with approximately 300+ beds, servicing a rapidly growing regional population.

The Emergency Department is a busy, well-supported unit that:

  • Sees approximately 150 patients per day, with around one-third paediatric presentations
  • Maintains an admission rate of 20-22% across multiple specialties
  • Acts as a referral hub for several surrounding rural hospitals
  • Focuses strongly on patient flow, clinical decision-making and safe care pathways
  • Operates with a collaborative senior medical team and structured supervision model

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent with current AHPRA registration
  • Fellowship of RACGP (FRACGP) or equivalent
  • Experience or strong interest in Emergency Medicine
  • Completion of, or willingness to undertake, Emergency Life Support training
  • Commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork and ongoing professional development
