Aboutthe Role
We'relooking for a Senior Buyer to join our Engineering & Construction businessand play a key role in delivering large-scale water infrastructure projectsthat provide millions of people with reliable and trusted water services.
Reportingto the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, you will take ownership ofend-to-end procurement across major projects, sourcing mechanical andelectrical equipment as well as subcontractor packages critical to projectdelivery. Working closely with engineering, project delivery, and commercialteams, you will ensure procurement strategies align with program timelines,technical requirements, and commercial outcomes.
Thisrole offers the opportunity to influence how major infrastructure projects aredelivered, with direct impact on cost, quality, and schedule. You will bedeeply involved in supplier engagement, contract negotiations, and resolvingcomplex procurement challenges, ensuring materials and services are deliveredefficiently and to the highest standard.
AboutYou
Youare a commercially astute procurement professional with experience operating inengineering or construction project environments, and you thrive in roles whereyour decisions directly influence project success. You bring proven experienceas a Buyer or Senior Buyer, with a deep understanding of mechanical andelectrical equipment sourcing and subcontractor management. You are confidentin negotiating commercial terms and establishing mutually beneficial supplierrelationships.
Youhave excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and are proficient inprocurement software as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel formanaging cost and supplier data. You are detail-oriented and able to managemultiple procurement packages simultaneously, ensuring accuracy in ordering,invoicing, and record-keeping.
Preferredcandidates will hold formal qualifications or certifications in Purchasing orSupply Chain Management, such as CPSM or CSCP, and have experience inlarge-scale infrastructure or utilities projects. Adaptability, commercialacumen, and strong interpersonal skills are key, alongside the ability to reactto design changes or project adjustments efficiently. Experience withinternational sourcing, Incoterms, logistics, and tariff concessions is highlydesirable.
