We’re recruiting on behalf of a high-growth international accounting and advisory group for a Senior Accountant in their Sydney Tax & business advisory team. Ideal for someone who enjoys client relationships, mentoring juniors and being part of a collaborative, ambitious firm.

The role

You’ll manage a portfolio of business clients, handle key compliance work and support emerging advisory opportunities, while coaching junior staff and contributing to a high-performance culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Year-end accounts and tax compliance for a portfolio of business clients

  • Preparation and review of financial statements, workpapers, income tax and FBT returns

  • Preparation of BAS and IAS

  • Management reporting and support with general advisory queries

  • Managing the tax lodgement program and deadlines

  • Supervising and reviewing work of junior accountants with on-the-job coaching

  • Supporting process and quality improvements within the team

About you

Currently in an Australian public practice firm (business services/tax), you are looking for more scope, responsibility and a visible career path.

You will bring:

  • Around 4+ years’ experience in business services / tax in an accounting firm

  • Degree in Accounting / Commerce

  • CA or CPA qualified or near completion

  • Solid Australian tax and compliance knowledge

  • Strong communication skills and confidence building client relationships

  • Enjoyment of mentoring juniors and contributing to a positive team culture

  • Proactive, organised and comfortable in a growth environment
