The Role
Joining the Commercial and Infrastructure Delivery team as an Associate Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the successful delivery of major projects across Water, Transport (Road/Rail), Energy and Major Events infrastructure (e.g. Olympic/Paralympic Games).
We're looking for a respected infrastructure advisory professional with a deep understanding of the commercial function through the full project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be required to provide strategic commercial advice and deliver high quality work on a daily basis for our valued clients on high-value, public sector infrastructure projects.
As well as project work this role will contribute to the management of an internal team of RPS Commercial and Infrastructure Delivery professionals based in Queensland, providing leadership, line management, mentoring and contribution to building team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate with client project teams in strategy, development and execution of the commercial function of major infrastructure projects.
- Manage project teams to deliver against budget performance.
- Contribute to business development, with a particular focus on major infrastructure projects with ability to promote other services and divisions within the RPS portfolio.
- Contribute to the Queensland Commercial and Infrastructure Delivery team in work winning of major commercial contracts, including leveraging network and leading business development of internal commercial team. This includes identifying and helping secure a set annual revenue target each year.
- Provide advanced level advice and guidance to project teams and clients and undertake peer reviews.
- Engage with decision-makers and industry leaders to spot future market trends or opportunities and shape the direction of the service or discipline.
- Remain current through exposure to contemporary service line developments and knowledge sharing. Professional development as appropriate.
- Identify and lead the adoption of innovations and technology as it applies with a view to the future demands of our clients and the market generally.
Essential experience and attributes include:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Law or Quantity Surveying backed by 10+years of proven experience in delivering major infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of public sector project delivery, particularly in Queensland.
- Strong understanding of risk allocation, change management, commercial principles, and market dynamics.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities, through interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop long-term business relationships with clients and industry partners.
- Superior communication skills including the ability to write clearly and accurately as well as speak confidently and eloquently.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and work cooperatively with people at all levels to achieve desired outcomes.
