Job Description

DroneShield is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with relevant experience to join the development team in Sydney. The primary focus of the role is to develop and maintain DroneShield's Linux-based deployed sensors. It represents an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual in a new niche but exploding market.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

  • Design, code and implementation of new software for a Linux target.
  • Improve and maintain existing software platform.
  • Implement new software features from concept to delivery.
  • Assist with product testing and validation.
  • Work with engineering team to ensure reliable and robust end to end system operation.
  • Troubleshooting and testing.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. Particularly interested in Electronic and Communications Systems with emphasis on embedded Linux.
  • Software development experience in one or more of the following; Python, C++ or C.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in related roles. Roles could include; Linux Embedded, System integration of Microcontrollers as supervisory to hardware architecture, Boot loaders, Regression testing, Test environment development.
  • Knowledge of the following would also be essential:ARM Processors, Linus Driver Development, Linux kernel compiling.
