About the Role You will take a hands-on, proactive approach to safety, quality, and maintenance across both homes, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-presented environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role requires someone who can identify issues early, take initiative, and follow through to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out general maintenance tasks, repairs, painting and room refurbishments across both sites. Coordinating and overseeing essential service maintenance requirements and external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time to meet compliance regulations, and to a high standard. Maintaining the overall upkeep of the homes, including resident areas, common spaces, and back-of-house facilities. Supporting minor gardening and grounds maintenance to ensure outdoor areas remain safe, tidy, and presentable. Working closely with Home Managers and key stakeholders to prioritise maintenance needs and respond to issues promptly. Taking ownership of safety and quality, ensuring all work aligns with OH&S requirements and aged care standards. Using a computer system (PC) to log jobs, update maintenance records, and track completed work. About You You are a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Officer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and maintaining a safe environment. You will bring: Proven experience in general maintenance, repairs, and painting. Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and resolve issues independently. A proactive approach-you don't wait to be told what to fix, you identify and act. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks across two sites. Confidence working with contractors and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and accountability. Basic computer skills for job tracking and documentation. A commitment to maintaining work to a consistently high standard. Desirable Experience and Qualifications: A current trade qualification/certificate. An understanding of the Aged Care Standards, accreditation, continuous improvement and ACFI requirements. Current police check. Essential. Working Rights.
