Senior PHP Symfony Developer

We are looking for a senior PHP Symfony developer with a passion for product definition to take ownership of features in its PHP Symfony code base. In this role, you'll write robust code and work with the latest open-source projects and next-gen architectures to produce high scale web apps. Description A senior developer with strong technical instincts, ready to take ownership of entire features in our PHP Symfony code base. What You'll Do: Create and improve existing features that keep our users doing amazing things with Makeup Social Write robust, pragmatic code, mostly in PHP (Symfony framework) Work with the latest open-source projects and next-gen architectures to produce high scale web apps Collaborate with a talented team of designers and fellow engineers What We're Looking For: A desire for deep involvement in product definition. Our engineers are expected to contribute to the direction their products are heading A passion for defining and building awesome web products and a strong sense for beautiful, pragmatic code A deep understanding of Makeup Social's features Smarts, humility, and equal willingness to learn and teach Expert-level knowledge in PHP Symfony Framework Working knowledge of Javascript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS Tools We Like: PHP5 MySQL taken to its furthest extent Prototype and jQuery (along with hand-crafted JS) Asynchronous requests and queues (frontend and backend) git and GitHub About Makeup Social Makeup Social is a website and mobile application that helps women find personalised beauty information through user generated content such as advice, reviews and photos. Think Facebook for beauty. We are start up based in Sydney City that has already validated their market with significant user traction (8000 members), raised an angel round and currently involved in the Winter Cycle Incubate accelerator program. With a website and mobile app in development we are currently looking for a tech co-founder with the right entrepreneurial mindset and technical skills to join the team.
