About the Role
The Data & Analytics Engineer plays a key role in designing, building and maintaining high-quality, secure data products that suppot informed decision-making across the University of Wollongong. Working within the Financial Services & Enterprise Data Division, this role spans the full data lifecycle-ingesting, transforming and modelling data to deliver reliable insights and scalable solutions. Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation, the position contributes to the ongoing enhancement of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring it remains a trusted, high-performing strategic asset while driving innovation and data-driven outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver trusted, high-quality data products that enable accurate, timely and actionable insights for business decision-making.
- Ensure the Enterprise Data Platform operates reliably and securely, supporting scalable analytics and strong data governance across the organisation.
- Improve data quality, consistency and accessibility, driving confidence and adoption of enterprise data assets.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data solutions, contributing to measurable improvements in reporting, efficiency and strategic outcomes.
About the Team
This role sits within the Financial Services & Enterprise Data Division, reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Products and Automation. It works closely with Enterprise Data team members, Data Custodians, and stakeholders across faculties and divisions to deliver reliable data solutions. The team exists to build and maintain a trusted, enterprise-wide data platform that enables informed decision making and supports the University's strategic and operational goals.
What You'll Bring
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in data and analytics, ideally within higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering, including building and maintaining data pipelines and data models.
- Strong technical skills in SQL, Python and modern data/ETL tools.
- Knowledge of data architecture, integration and cloud-based data platforms.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Level 6/7 | Salary $96,898 - $119,986 + 17% superannuation commensurate with experience and capability.
