Our Branch Waste and Resource Recovery Services (WaRRS) delivers essential waste management, resource recovery and litter prevention services across Brisbane, supporting reliable bin collection while reducing landfill. The branch manages key service contracts, installs and maintains public place infrastructure, and leads education and community initiatives to promote recycling, minimise waste and keep the city clean and sustainable. The Role Are you a skilled researcher, love problem solving and have experience interpreting legislation? If so, we are seeking a technically adept Development and Infrastructure Specialist to join our high paced team. Reporting to the Development and Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be tasked with ensuring Development Applications (DA) align with assessment benchmarks under City Plan 2014. You will effectively assess plans and supporting documents submitted as part of the development applications process for residential and non-residential proposals and provide guidance to developers and Council officers to ensure plans will provide effective refuse and recycling storage and removal requirements for Brisbane, now and into the future. To be successful you will have: demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural plans, survey drawings, traffic reports and site evaluations associated with development proposals sound understanding and practical application of relevant legislation, council policies and waste management practices strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide advice and influence stakeholders proven experience in solving problems and identifying and implementing improvement initiatives ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver outcomes within required.
