Your New Role

The role of Principal, Valuations (Property) is a senior leadership position within Valuations & Portfolio Reporting in the Finance domain. Reporting to Head of Valuations & Portfolio Reporting, as a Principal in the Valuation team you will play a role in fulfilling key the Valuation team's strategy and evolving the Valuation team's responsibilities as they primarily relate to the Fund's Property Investments globally.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that the Fund's investment assets are valued in accordance with the process for valuations per the Fund's Valuation Policy.

  • Supplement the Valuation Process with appropriate processes, systems and documentation to ensure it meets the expectations of key stakeholders including regulators and the external auditors.

  • Oversee the process to appoint external valuers; optimise the process, costing and challenge the assumptions and outputs.

  • Active involvement with the Asset Class teams to understand valuation assumptions, inputs and ensure an independent view and challenge.

  • Managing the delivery of papers to the Valuation Committee, Finance and Audit Committee (FAC) and the Board with review and approval from Head of Valuations & Portfolio Reporting.

  • Assess, build and manage the team to ensure we have the right capability to deliver on the agreed outcomes.

  • Develop and manage team members globally to foster a positive team environment that is centered on continued improvement. Motivate and inspire the team by demonstrating commitment to the Fund's values, decision pillars and leadership principles.

  • Hire and develop a high performing, diverse and engaged team who will support the successful delivery of the Fund's strategic ambitions, and are innovative, resilient and equipped to deal with ambiguity.

  • Drive a strong service and excellence-oriented culture with accompanying KPIs, within the team and with suppliers and partners.

  • Contribute both functional expertise and broader leadership and business management ideas, skills, and experience as part of cross-Fund initiatives.

  • Lead implementation of AI driven tools and automation within valuation workflows. Drive operational adoption across the team.

  • Contribute to the Fund's Valuation function globally and capability, including developing systems, controls and processes required to support the rapidly growing fund and increasing size and complexity of investment assets.

  • Contribute to the on-going improvement of the Fund's Valuation Policy, Standard and other governance guidelines.

What You'll Need

  • 15+ years' experience in property valuations across multiple sectors, working within a property consulting firm, a boutique valuation firm or an institutional/corporate investing organisation.

  • Strong technical property valuation skills across broad industry segments including experience with the preparation of reports, analysis of information and drawing of conclusions.

  • Self-starter comfortable working in a team where project management of multiple tasks is required.

  • Experience managing projects with a number of stakeholders and service providers.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, specifically in the context of valuation work.
