Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGCFR) Project is a major South East Queensland infrastructure program that will transform rail travel between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Delivered by the ActivUs Alliance, the project will increase the corridor from two to four tracks between Kuraby and Beenleigh and significantly upgrade stations, systems, and community connectivity.


About the role

Oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of all track construction activities for the LGCFR project. This role ensures compliance with technical standards, financial constraints, and project timelines while managing a team of engineers and coordinating efforts with subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams. Acting as a critical liaison between stakeholders, delivery managers, and the track team, the Track Project Manager drives quality, safety, and performance outcomes, ensuring the successful execution of project objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Track team, ensuring delivery of track construction activities in alignment with project requirements, technical standards, and timelines.

  • Oversee overall track programme management, ensuring dependencies, risks, and milestones are effectively identified and managed.

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, tracking progress against deadlines and implementing corrective actions where required to avoid delays or risks.

  • Coordinate cross-disciplinary collaboration with delivery managers, design teams, project stakeholders, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project operation and delivery.

  • Review quality assurance processes, ensuring all ITPs, engineering and construction documentation, work packs, and quality records are developed in accordance with required timeframes and standards to achieve compliance and precision in work execution.

  • Support possession planning, staging, and coordination with operations and other disciplines (stations, signals, OHLE, civil, structures, utilities)

  • Manage accurate and timely cost forecasting, accruals, earned value, and monthly financial reporting for track works, ensuring budgetary alignment across engineering and construction delivery.

  • Develop and deliver detailed risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate operational, scheduling, and design challenges.

  • Conduct regular site visits, including during rail possessions, overseeing critical operations such as rail delivery, turnout construction, ballast placement, and trackwork installation for quality assurance and alignment with scope.

  • Provide mentorship and high-level technical guidance to Supervision, Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, and Site Engineers to enhance team capability and performance.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline

  • Relevant Rail Industry Worker Competencies

  • Minimum 10 years relevant construction and project management experience

  • Proven track record in project management on a large-sale rail infrastructure project

  • Extensive experience in track design, construction, and maintenance within rail systems and experience leading track engineers

  • Strong knowledge of Australian rail and safety standards
