About the role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Planner to support the delivery of major LNG shutdowns and turnaround activities.
This is a detail-focused planning role suited to a shutdown professional who thrives in structured, high-pressure environments and can ensure work is fully planned, scoped and ready for execution. You will play a critical role in developing work packs, coordinating materials and resources, and ensuring shutdown readiness across all maintenance activities.
The role is based in Brisbane CBD, with hybrid working options.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed shutdown work packs including labour, materials, scaffolding, tooling and access requirements
Plan and coordinate shutdown maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective execution
Manage and maintain CMMS work orders, ensuring all scope is clearly defined and execution-ready
Attend pre-shutdown meetings, TAR reviews and provide readiness updates via shutdown reporting
Coordinate material availability, procurement activities and vendor requirements
Drive planning accuracy to within 10% for cost and time, with clear ownership of budget performance
Support mobilisation planning including site setup, equipment, tooling and temporary facilities
Coordinate permits and ensure compliance with shutdown safety and environmental requirements
Provide progress updates and support execution teams during shutdown delivery
Assist with shutdown close-out, capturing lessons learned and updating maintenance records
Support contractor coordination and performance monitoring against KPIs
About you
Trade or engineering background in Mechanical or related discipline
Proven experience as a Mechanical Planner within LNG, oil & gas or heavy industry shutdown environments
Strong understanding of shutdown work management, planning processes and CMMS systems
Experience developing work packs, estimating resources and coordinating materials and procurement
Ability to work across planning and execution phases of shutdowns and turnarounds
Strong stakeholder engagement with operations, maintenance teams and contractors
Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Safety-focused with a strong understanding of permit systems and shutdown controls
