The Principal Policy Officer manages the development and evaluation of best practice policies, programs, projects, and activities for the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, and related government agencies to support the achievement of NSW Health's objectives undertaken by the Director of PPT and SMB executive leadership team relating to health system management.
Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
The Principal Policy Officer will lead and manage staff undertaking policy development and evaluation activities and projects for the Ministry of Health and related government agencies addressing current and health system management policy issues.
Research and evaluate health system management policies in order to assess and advise on their relevance and their potential impact on Ministry and Government objectives.
Provide sound information and advice on current and emerging health system management policy issues to Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health, public health organisations and related government agencies to ensure issues are satisfactorily resolved or addressed.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Significant experience in developing, analysing and evaluating health policy and other projects in a multi disciplinary environment.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting on health system management and related matters.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in managing all aspects of health policy research, development, review and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive end to end project delivery through effective stakeholder engagement including senior clinicians and executives, communications, and rigorous monitoring and evaluation to support continuous improvement and future planning.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of health system and hospital operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
