The Role

The Administrative officer is responsible for providing support to the Cancer Care Centre through the coordination of an efficient secreterial and clerical service. The occupant is expected to perform a variety of duties including dictaphone typing, general office duties, reception duties, processing and tracking order requestions.

The Administrative officer will perform all duties in an efficient manner and have sound working knowledge of Microsoft applications. The Administrative officer will have the ability to prioritise work and have organisational skills.

The Administrative officer will be responsible for dictaphone typing of patient letters and correspondenc and follow up on referrals to doctors and clinics.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated advanced secreterial skills including an accurate and fast typing speed.
  2. Demonstrated ability to cope with a variety of tasks and to meet deadlines.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to work indpendently.
  5. Experience in dictaphone typing.
  6. Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  7. Computer literacy with recent experience with all microsoft applications.
