We are made up of 2 branches, Sports and Recreation together with Arts & Community Development. Our Branch The Sport and Recreation Branch plays a key role in supporting active, healthy and connected communities across Brisbane. Community Facilities leads the sustainable management of Council-owned community facing assets including administration of City Hall, Community Halls and the iconic Riverstage. We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Riverstage team, which manages the iconic facility at Gardens Point. A small but supportive team, we coordinate local, national and international music concerts and community events throughout the year. Some of our upcoming events include Jack Johnson, Electric Callboy, Dermot Kennedy and ZARA Larsson. The Role Reporting to the Riverstage Operations Manager, this role coordinates operational event requirements, including liaising with hirer's representatives and Riverstage suppliers. The position ensures that event requirements and event facilitation needs are met through: developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders coordinating ticketing, catering, accessibility and VIP offerings managing the bookings calendar and pencil to contract process actively managing WH&S and risk minimisation strategies drafting estimates and contracts, as well as invoicing coordinating community events identifying and developing new event procedures; and monitoring and reporting on events. It would be ideal if you have experience coordinating projects and event elements for outdoor music and/or performing arts venues. The role will suit you if you are self-motivated, happy to support both management and the wider team while contributing towards a positive culture of performance excellence. To be successful you will have: the ability to prepare high quality and accurate event schedules, plans, budgets and reports the ability to support the coordination of event labor requirements for major commercial events well-developed communication skillS and the ability to negotiate with a range of stakeholders experience in the effective use of computer applications relevant to event management; and experience in end-to-end project and event coordination for entertainment venues or spaces. This role will require: a criminal history check, a current open drivers licence participation in an on-call roster reasonable after-hours activities and overtime when required for business needs.
