About the Role
Reporting to the Director City Planning and Infrastructure, this key leadership role oversees three teams with approximately 35 staff. These teams provide civil, urban and landscape design, construction, project management and supervision services to create high quality public buildings, civil infrastructure, open spaces and streetscapes.
Play a role in the Senior Leadership Team by contributing and shaping our community making Casey an adaptable, future-ready organisation, where innovative people and partnerships thrive to deliver maximum benefit.
A leadership role like no other - be empowered to make decisions that make a difference and focus on achieving outcomes. We are delivering on an ambitious transformation program that will require your drive to support the department through change. You will showcase a good understanding of project management, capital works, construction and design to play a key role in delivering our Capital Works program. This is an exciting program of works that includes several major community and recreation facility projects that are underway and planned into the future.
To be successful in this role you will be required to demonstrate the following:
- Passion for leading teams and developing people.
- Demonstrated ability to foster both internal and external relationships and maximise partnership opportunities.
- Sound understanding of the economic, political and social issues relating to the Local Government environment, with the ability to strategically identify patterns, trends or implications before planning or acting.
- Strong political acumen and financial awareness.
- Good understanding of engineering, project management, capital works, construction and design.
- Proven ability to think critically and strategically.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across service delivery
- Ability to have a positive impact on the Casey community.
Your Skills & Attributes
Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or relevant design related discipline are expected. With significant related experience / background in leading large and diverse workforces, finance and strategic planning. Sound understanding of the economic, political and social issues relating to the Local Government environment is a prerequisite.
