Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. This a part time role (76 hours per fortnight) within the Department of Infectious Diseases that combines work within the clinical research unit and HIV services of the Department. For Clinical Research the Fellow will work on current clinical trials being performed in the unit with scope to conduct their own research projects or analyses within the framework of existing projects. This work will be under the guidance of clinical researchers within the Department. The role will work as part of a multidisciplinary research and clinical team including clinical and basic science researchers, research co-ordinators and clinical staff in the ward and outpatient setting. For the HIV component the fellow will combine clinical patient care, education and training, system development and research activities. This formalised Fellow role will represent subspecialty training in HIV and will have responsibility for supporting clinical, quality and research activities across the Victorian HIV Service, including quality improvement and ambulatory care. The placement is designed to provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable thedoctor to advance their skills and knowledge in the subspeciality discipline of HIV Medicine.
