Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer to join our Mental Health Services Team.
We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Consultant Liaison Psychiatry is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in psychiatry, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Mental Health Service and Hospital as required.
The Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry will work as one of a number of psychiatrists within a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry service based at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, providing direct care and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health team.
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration
with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Positions will be available from July 2026. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from this date, may be considered.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
