Senior Pursuit and Proposal Manager

Role description:

This role will be responsible for:

• Management of selected pursuits and bids, including performing the role of Pursuit Leader for selected opportunities.
• Ensure preparation of bids is consistently of a high standard, and in accordance with best practice bid strategies\
• Management of bid processes with a view to increasing strike rate and margin
• Working with the SPEC APAC team allow for more efficient proposal preparation throughout Australia.
• To improve the consistency, quality and performance of the pursuit processes, particularly high value / high importance major opportunities.

The Pursuits and Proposal Manager role reports directly to the Proposals Manager role.

Role accountabilities:

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Taking ownership of specific major pursuits as the Pursuit Leader, particularly in the early stages where data collection / gathering market intelligence / market positioning activities dominate.
• For major pursuits allocated to others, provide assistance in pursuit processes such as:
  • gathering market and project intelligence
  • assist in assembling teams, using both internal resources and external partners
  • preparing organisational charts & resource plans
  • liaising with legal regarding review of terms and conditions
  • organising pursuit meetings and workshops
  • gathering commercial information as input to Arcadis' commercial offer
  • participate in and contribute to strategy discussions for specific pursuits and then helping to deliver that strategy.
• Provide an oversight of the quality and consistency of our bids, taking into account lessons-learnt to improve strike rates, and improving our compliance with best-bidding strategies (market back pricing, use of GEC's, scope strategies, competitive subconsultant pricing or exclusive engagement of key suppliers).
• To look for and drive improvements in our Bid Management processes ensuring any best practices are filtered back to the Business and SPEC
• To author compelling non-technical elements and assist with technical elements of proposals as required.
• Contribute to sales meetings with Pursuit Managers and Business Leaders as required.
• Exposure and engagement with Clients in pursuit (in concert with the Pursuit Managers), bidding and post submission debriefs to be able to continuously improve our proposal and bidding strategies.
• Actively work with the SPEC team to develop a high performing Manila team to support the business, this including providing feedback, proposal reviews, coaching, and guidance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Ability to work as part of a team (including ability to influence and work with the business to get things done).
• Knowledge of Arcadis or consulting engineering pursuit processes
• Experience in the support and execution of major pursuit processes
• Well organised with a high level of attention to detail
• Professional approach and presentation to clients (internal / external)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent influencing and relationship building skills, both internally and externally
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to develop a business network
• Responsiveness and receptive agility
