Are you a passionate and patient-focused Registered Nurse looking to grow your career in a fast-paced surgical environment? Nepean Hospital is seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our dedicated Short Stay Surgical Ward team.

As a Registered Nurse in the Short Stay Surgical Ward, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based Nursing care to patients undergoing elective and emergency surgical procedures. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play an essential role in supporting safe, efficient patient flow and positive clinical outcomes. This is a role that will see you assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, monitor post-operative recovery and escalate clinical concerns appropriately and collaborate effectively with Medical, Allied Health and Nursing teams

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a registered Nurse).
  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  5. Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  7. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  8. Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week.
