About the Role

Join UOW to support a key project uplifting data governance and management practices. In this role, you will work with stakeholders and vendors to implement data solutions (including classification, labelling, and DLP), support system configuration and testing, and deliver change management, communications and training activities to support rollout of these platforms across the University.

This is a collaborative role suited to someone with data management experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for improving how organisations manage and protect their data.

Key responsibilities:

Support the rollout of enterprise-wide data management and governance platforms through configuration, documentation, training, and change activities.
Implement data governance and lifecycle management practices by engaging data custodians and helping document enterprise data assets.
Work with stakeholders, vendors and technical teams to gather requirements, support delivery, and embed data management policies and practices.
Promote adoption of data management tools and strategies across the University, building capability and fostering a culture of data stewardship.

About the Team

This role sits within the Financial Services & Enterprise Data Division under the Vice President (Operations) portfolio, supporting a University-wide data governance uplift initiative. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including data custodians and system owners, as well as external vendors to implement and enhance data management solutions.

What You'll Bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in data management, governance, or analytics.
  • Working knowledge of data governance principles and frameworks (e.g. DMBOK).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring, testing, or supporting data management or related systems.
  • Demonstrated experience to develop and deliver training or guidance to promote best-practice data management.

  • Level 6/7 | $94,998 - $117,633 + superannuation commensurate with experience and capability.
