About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance, Alternative Investments team on a full-time, permanent basis in Brisbane. This position offers the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and expand your expertise in the dynamic field of alternative investments. You'll contribute to QIC's investment functions across Private Equity, Private Debt and State Investments. In this hands-on role, you'll manage day-to-day operational tasks within QIC's investment portfolio and ensure accurate, timely reporting.

What you'll be doing

  • Record and process investment-related transactions and valuations.
  • Maintain compliance with investment mandates, regulatory reporting requirements, and internal controls.
  • Monitor and reconcile cash flow requirements and balances.
  • Prepare month-end workpapers for the regular reporting cycles.
  • Reconcile key balances and investment data.
  • Support reporting requirements, year-end financial statements, and audits.
  • Work closely with senior team members on operational tasks, reporting, and various business initiatives.

About you

We're seeking someone who is proactive, takes initiative, and can work independently within a flexible and fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or equivalent.
  • CA or CPA qualification (completed or in progress).
  • Experience in financial services, consulting, or investment management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, adaptable to new systems, and genuinely interested in AI technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach, contributing to a high-performing team.
