About the role

At Zenith, we believe performance isn't just a channel, it's a growth engine. As a SEO Director, you'll sit at the heart of a global blue-chip client, shaping how audiences experience a brand across markets and moments. A rare opportunity to step into a high profile piece of business where the scale, complexity and visibility are unmatched. The successful candidate will work closely with the SEO Business Director and Head of Performance in delivering effective and holistic SEO campaigns that exceed client objectives. They'll go beyond client briefs & push the boundaries of the SEO offering, managing from a senior level our SEO work and continuously developing their own expertise and digital knowledge. As the SEO Director, you will understand how digital experiences can impact both acquisition and conversion, as well as being driven by a continual test and learn approach to your work. You will understand the value of running an efficient and scalable SEO programme and spearhead our processes and solutions to effectively meet the needs of a growing department. You will be involved in developing the SEO offering and ensuring that all work coming out of the SEO team is of the highest quality. As well as this, you'll be responsible for nurturing and developing our relationship with key client stakeholders, flagging risks and opportunities with a clear understanding of our commercial performance and initiatives. You will also be one of the key senior figures in the team and support the SEO Managers' progression and continued work satisfaction.

What you will do with us:

  • Partner closely with the Business Director and Head of Performance to deliver effective, end to end SEO campaigns that exceed client objectives across local and key markets
  • Lead the strategic direction and senior delivery of SEO work, pushing beyond client briefs to elevate the overall SEO offering
  • Continuously develop your digital and SEO expertise, staying ahead of industry trends and evolving search behaviours
  • Shape and optimise SEO programmes to ensure they are efficient, scalable, and aligned to a growing client and business portfolio
  • Apply a strong "test and learn" mindset, using data and experimentation to improve acquisition and conversion performance
  • Drive the ongoing development of the agency's SEO proposition, ensuring all output is of the highest quality and consistency
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor while identifying risks and growth opportunities
  • Maintain a clear view of commercial performance, contributing to initiatives that support client growth and business outcomes
  • Act as a senior leader within the team, mentoring and supporting SEO Managers to drive progression, engagement, and high performance

What You'll Bring:

  • Established experience in SEO, ideally within a fast paced agency environment working with high value clients
  • Strong technical and strategic understanding of SEO, including how search engines and websites function, with working knowledge of HTML
  • Proven ability to identify organic growth opportunities, set meaningful KPIs, and forecast SEO performance
  • Confidence using analytics platforms and data to measure impact, generate insights, and inform decision making
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively
  • Strong client management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong project management capability, able to prioritise workloads, manage multiple deliverables, and maintain clear communication across teams
  • A collaborative approach with demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior talent
  • Resilient, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast moving, evolving environment
  • Positive, curious, and solutions focused mindset, with a willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to wider team forums and agency culture
