Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. We are seeking a motivated secretary to join our team and play a key role in the provision of excellent administrative support.

This role provides high-level administrative support to multiple stakeholders, including the Head of Renal Service, Staff Specialists as well as the Nurse Unit Manager, in order to manage workflow and commitments. The successful candidate will also be responsible for setting up and implementing processes aimed at the overall coordination of administration services within the local health district's Renal Services department.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including staff management and leadership skills
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to compose quality correspondence, documents, and reports in a professional and timely manner
  3. Demonstrated experience in a clinic setting including setting up new outpatient services, I.PM Appointment scheduling, waitlist management, billing practices and clinic workflow management.
  4. Demonstrated effective customer service experience for a broad range of clients
  5. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team and with senior medical and nursing staff
  6. Demonstrated ability to implement change management processes through effective communication and negotiation with the multidisciplinary team to assist with the development and implementation of new policies and procedures
  7. Ability to be flexible between all locations of Renal Service within NBMLHD
  8. Demonstrated organisational/time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure, meet tight timeframes and managing competing demands
