This position offers the chance to build your skills across a wide range of clinical areas including orthopaedics, ICU, rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal. You can also gain exposure to unique specialties like maternity, burns, paediatrics, and hydrotherapy. You'll work both independently and as part of a progressive, patient-centred physiotherapy team. Within this role you would have lots of regular supervision from experienced senior clinicians. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you'll advocate for patients and contribute to high-quality care, all while participating in structured education, supervision, and competency development.
In this role, you'll be supported by senior physiotherapists and the Physiotherapy manager while becoming a connected and valued member of the Hunter New England-wide professional network. Education is a key focus, with opportunities to engage in ongoing training, participate in regular professional practice supervision, and complete development activities tailored in collaboration with your supervisor or senior clinician. Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the HNELHD. It has approximately 270 beds, the Critical Care Services is located in the new state of the art hospital complex and boasts an 8 bed ICU, 6 bed HDU, 8 bed CCU, Rehabilitation Unit, Orthopaedics, Hydrotherapy Pool, Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Fracture Clinic.
What you'll be doing:
Advance your physiotherapy career with a rewarding Physiotherapist role in Tamworth! You would gain diverse and exciting experience within varied caseloads, working across the inpatient wards. As a part of the Physio team, you would be supported and have the opportunity to upskill across multiple clinical areas within Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, including Orthopaedics, Fracture Clinic, Surgical and Medical wards, Critical Care, Rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal. There is also opportunity for exposure to unique clinical areas/skills such as maternity, women's health, burns, paediatrics, hands, amputee care and hydrotherapy.
You would further your skills to work autonomously but with the support of senior physiotherapists to treat diverse clinical presentations. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to high-quality care while engaging in structured education, supervision, and professional development activities.

About you:
Have effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with patients, carers and the wider multidiscipline team
- Be interested in management with patients with complexity of care across a variety of conditions
- Showcase your time management skills and prioritise your clinical demands
- Be a team player, who enjoys working with a supportive team.
- Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
