The Manager Production Support is responsible for leading the production support activity carried out by all support shops functions within Brisbane Base Maintenance (BBM), ensuring the seamless delivery of maintenance operations through effective resource planning, operational efficiency, and strategic leadership. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, enhancing operational performance, and building a performance-driven culture that ensures customer aircraft are delivered on time and on budget.

You will lead the Production Support Group and be accountable for production preparedness, process improvements, operational compliance, and the development of key performance measures that enhance delivery standards across BBM. Strong leadership, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and a safety-first mindset will be essential to success in this role.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the production support shop lifecycle and driving operational efficiency initiatives across Brisbane Base Maintenance.
  • Partnering with senior leaders to drive a performance-based culture, championing change, and embedding continuous improvement practices.
  • Overseeing resource alignment, workload management, and production readiness to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships across Qantas Engineering, CAMO, and external suppliers to ensure seamless operational delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with all CASA regulations, Qantas Engineering policies, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Providing strategic leadership in safety, operational performance, and people management across production support functions.
  • Leading business improvement initiatives and actively contributing to the Qantas Group's engineering transformation program.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 10+ years Extensive leadership experience within aircraft maintenance environments, including 5 years of senior executive responsibility.
  • Strong background in production planning, resource management, and maintenance operations.
  • Deep knowledge of CASA regulations and experience working in regulated heavy maintenance facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead cultural and operational change within large, complex teams.
  • Proven ability to manage safety, compliance, industrial relations, and operational excellence.
  • Experience building stakeholder relationships and influencing outcomes at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen, project management skills, and an understanding of Lean methodologies.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business Management, or related disciplines.
