Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a motivated Account Executive to join the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Public Sector team. This role is focused on driving cloud adoption and revenue growth across a defined set of government accounts. You will be responsible for building customer relationships, managing pipeline, and closing deals that help public sector organisations leverage cloud technology to deliver better citizen outcomes.

The Account Executive will work within a supportive team environment alongside Solutions Architects, Partner Managers, and Professional Services to develop and execute account plans. This role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional looking to accelerate their career in cloud technology sales within the public sector.



Key job responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of public sector accounts, driving revenue growth and increasing cloud adoption

Build relationships with key stakeholders (Director level and below) across assigned government agencies

Develop and execute account plans with clear goals, timelines, and measurable outcomes

Manage a healthy sales pipeline from lead generation and qualification through to close

Work collaboratively with Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, and Partner teams to develop compelling customer proposals

Identify customer challenges and articulate how AWS services can address their needs

Respond to RFPs/RFTs and manage proposal processes within government procurement frameworks

Provide regular pipeline updates, forecasts, and account reports to sales leadership

Attend and represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums

Develop domain knowledge in public sector trends including digital transformation, cybersecurity, data analytics, and AI/ML

Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
