Due to growth, SEE Group are seeking a high-achieving WHS Operations Manager to fill this vital, newly-created position supporting operations from Moreton Bay to Far North Queensland.

As the WHS Operations Manager - North, you will lead and embed a culture of continuous improvement across our northern operations by driving best-practice safety systems, processes, and compliance standards.
This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of WHS systems to ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will also manage organisational training compliance in line with our WHS Management Systems (IMS) and support the maintenance of key certifications and accreditations across SEE Group and its subsidiaries, including ISO, OFSC, QMS, and TMR requirements.
Working closely with employees, contractors, and clients at all levels, you will provide trusted WHS leadership, coaching, and operational support across the business.

You are an experienced WHS professional with at least five years' experience in safety, field operations, and leadership roles, ideally within heavy industry sectors such as civil, mining, oil and gas, or commercial construction. You'll bring strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice, along with experience working with regulatory bodies. Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities, you will have excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills. You will also demonstrate strong leadership capability, sound problem-solving skills, experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions, and the ability to develop and embed effective safety management systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Driving a proactive safety culture across northern operations
  • Monitoring and improving WHS systems, policies, and procedures
  • Ensuring training and competency compliance across the workforce
  • Supporting audits, certifications, and accreditation requirements
  • Leading investigations into incidents, dangerous events, lost time injuries, and regulatory matters
  • Providing safety assurance, reporting, and performance insights
  • Partnering with operational teams to achieve strong WHS outcomes
Essential Skills and Attributes
  • Tertiary qualification - Workplace Health and Safety, Health, Paramedical Science or similar (desirable)
  • Formal qualifications in iCAM / Tap Root / or equivalent
  • Formal qualifications in Bow Tie Critical Control Risk Management (CCRM) or equivalent (desirable)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate (desirable)
