The Opportunity
SEE Group has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our highly professional Commercial and Legal team, based at our Helensvale Head Office.
As Legal Counsel, you will work collaboratively with business units to ensure all operations of the organisation are conducted within the limits prescribed by law and that the organisation's rights are fully protected through the provision of sound legal counsel and guidance.

Responsibilities
- Assisting with the negotiation and finalisation of legal documentation
- The provision of legal advice on a broad spectrum of construction law, property law, commercial law, litigation and administrative law matters to both internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring emerging and relevant legislation that will impact the business
- Develop key business relationships to be a true business partner
- Monitor the provision of legal services from external counsel
- Ensure the business is compliant with applicable laws and regulation
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Tertiary qualification in Law
- Preferably three to four years' post-admission experience or greater, ideally in commercial, construction or property law. Legal construction experience is beneficial but not required
- Sound understanding of various forms of contracts and supply agreements
- Awareness of the relationship between head contracts and subcontracts
- Understanding of guarantees, warranties, insurances and bonds
- Strong attention to detail and analytically minded
- Basic negotiation, influencing abilities supported by intermediate verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding and experience in application of procurement and contract management principles, concepts, practices, and standards
