About the role
The Library Officer will deliver exceptional customer experiences to achieve Council's strategic objectives andvision for the City of Parramatta as Sydney's Central City.
The Library Officer contributes to positive customer experience by actively providing service delivery by working as a team member and communicating effectively with customers.
On a daily basis you will:
- Proactive customer service: Deliver a roving, floorwalking approach, taking ownership to ensure every customer has a positive experience, including acting as Officer in Charge when required.
- Exceptional customer experience: Consistently deliver services aligned to the Customer Service Charter, Customer Care Standards, and Phive Customer Service Competencies.
- Library service delivery: Provide day-to-day services, programs, and support to enhance community access, engagement, and enjoyment of the library.
- Information & digital support: Assist customers with research, reference enquiries, and effective use of ICT, including apps and digital literacy support.
- Programs & operations support: Deliver literacy programs, promote services, maintain collections and spaces, and contribute to general library operations and procedures.
About You
The successful candidate should have previous experiencein Operational library and/or customer service with a proven track record of achieving objectives.
You will also bring:
- Completion of an Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) accredited Course. or (eligible membership of ALIA) and relevant experience)
- Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, with exceptional ability to deliver memorable experiences.
- Well-developed ability to communicate and, build relationships and influence others with an engaging approach and technique.
- Ability to perform well under pressure during busy periods.
- Well-developed planning, organisation and time management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.

We are offering 2x permanent part time opportunities, providing 21 hours a week across Monday - Sunday, with attractive remuneration from $78, 199.90 (pro-rata) plus 12% superannuation.
