Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Account Manager to drive growth and deepen customer relationships within the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Public Sector. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of strategic government accounts, developing account plans, and delivering revenue targets while helping customers achieve their cloud transformation goals.

The Senior Account Manager will work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment alongside Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and Partner teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions that improve public sector outcomes. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, build strong executive relationships, and act as the primary commercial point of contact for your accounts.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud adoption

Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies

Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes

Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value

Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements, RFPs/RFTs, and standing offers

Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence

Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development

Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums

Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and AI/ML adoption

Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
