Job Description
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Indigenous) portfolio leads and collaborates across the University to advance First Peoples learning and teaching, engagement, and research in line with Griffith's strategic goals. The Office is the coordinating office for all activities which fall within the portfolio, including:
- GUMURRII Student Success Unit is the heart of Griffith's Indigenous student community, with a dedicated student hub located on each campus. GUMURRII staff provide high quality services and support for potential and current students, from schools outreach to recruitment, orientation to graduation in a safe and culturally appropriate learning environment.
- Indigenous Research Unit is committed to creating an environment that fosters the sharing of Indigenous research and knowledges, developing the research capacity of academics and research candidates, and educational advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Learning and Teaching (Indigenous) team coordinates initiatives that embed Indigenous perspectives into curriculum and pedagogy, while also facilitating the Cultural Humility program for staff across the University.
- Maori and Pasifika Engagement team, based at Logan, drives outreach and community engagement, supporting prospective and current students and promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Head of Logan Campus, Griffith's intercultural, intergenerational campus focused on health and service disciplines that support major local employers.
This role is pivotal to this work. As the Administrative Officer, your contribution will enable the DVC(I) portfolio to operate effectively, allowing teams to focus on delivering meaningful outcomes aligned with Griffith's values.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the broad direction of the Executive Officer, the Administrative Officer will provide high level administrative support across the DVC(I) portfolio. In the role you will:
- Coordinate diaries, travel, records management and information flow
- Maintain and review administrative processes and make suggestions for improvement
- Support delivery of activities and events such as outreach programs, workshops seminars/symposiums, publications, and social media promotion
- Assist with website updates, data collection, and preparation of correspondence, presentations, and reports
- Support development of promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and research outputs
- Provide secretariat support to working groups and committees, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions
- Maintain databases, manage procurement, and process financial transactions
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required
- Undertake additional duties across the DVC(I) portfolio as needed

- The ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
The occupant of this position will hold a completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience, or a minimum of an associate diploma qualification and at least two years relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
You will also hold and maintain a valid Blue Card (QLD).

This is a full time, fixed term/secondment opportunity until 26 February 2027 based at Griffith University Logan . As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations
Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary
HEW level 5 salary range $82,415.66 - $92,456.55 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
